Overture by Opus One: Non-Vintage
Since 1993, Opus One has been crafting Overture “as a part of our relentless pursuit of quality.” Though every acre of Opus One’s estate is carefully maintained, in any given year many of the parcels are not used for the final blend of Opus One. Opus One affords these wine lots additional time in the barrel, blends them across multiple vintages, and creates a fine “second wine” with “remarkable elegance and complexity that represents a superb expression of our estate.”

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet 2011
In 1995, after 13 years of partial ownership, Christian Moueix, UC-Davis alum and son of famed French merchant Jean-Pierre Moueix, became sole owner of a Napa Valley vineyard known as Napanook. Moueix chose the name Dominus, Latin for “Lord of the Estate,” to stress his longstanding commitment to the stewardship of the land, which can be tasted in every sip of this fine wine. 2011 was characterized by unusually wet conditions and this vintage displays a streak of herbaceousness.

Louis Latour Carton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2009
Located on a prime south-facing sun-filled section of the Corton hillside in Burgundy, this Grand Cru is harvested as late in the season as possible to insure maximum ripeness. Rich and oaky, the 2009 vintage exhibits a beautiful golden color and a pungent aroma of grilled almonds. It is advisable to be patient with this white wine, as it is promising today, but will be even bigger in a few years time!
